My friend Jamie owns the Reptile and Amphibian Discovery Zoo in Minnesota and needed a gator for his collection. He found a location of a big gator inhabiting a small wallow.
After a little search time and wading around in the water to get him to move, we found him. I had to hold onto Jamies britches while he was in the water to keep him from falling. After a bit we caught him and he will have a much bigger home at the zoo. A video was taken of us catching him up and i will post it when I get it.
I could only take a couple pics as my hands were full helping to catch him, he turned out to be 11 foot 4 and 700 pounds, a little smaller than we thought.
We wrapped his head in foam so he would feel secure and not put up a fight. In the pic Jamie is sitting on him, I am in the truck with him, also with a SA red footed tortoise.
These small wallows are all over and most contain huge gators.
