Mrs. D can you set it so I can upload my infmaous avatar? It wasn't working after you updated the board and now it says I can't upload one.

Unfortunately I can't do that. I would have to give that folder 777 permissions, an invitation to the de-facers. They did it a few times before and I've had it now. Sorry about that, but no go. Those annoying idiots cost me more work than I had bargained for.

Mrs. D you can be safe but please don't go crazy on this. Avatars are safe and that folder is safe at 777. I can see why you're being careful to the point of paranoid but it's going too far.

I've constantly offered to help as admin on such things, and as such would also make weekly backups.

It's quite sad that I couldn't use my trademark avatar for such a reason which is not warranted.

If you ever need someone to teach you about sites, forums and security I would be happy to dedicate my time, you are a good person worthy of knowledge of such things. Not to mention you're always here to help me in times of need.

Thanks, but I don't need anybody to teach me. My husband is taking care of the server and this business for years. If he tells me that it's unsafe, then that's what it is. He's the one with the college degree in those things, not me. And having seen it with my own eyes on numerous occasions, I have to agree with him.

I'm sorry if that doesn't suit your expectations, but this board is going to stay the way it is.

Good luck to you then. You want to be careful, that's fine. You want to be paranoid and crazy that's on you. Degree or no degree I make 57,000 in this field. I know what I'm talking about. I left one board due to being banned, now I leave this one because you're reliant on misinformation.

I will sincerely miss you as other then your blatant ignorance you are a GREAT person. I can't use a simple avatar? That means you've gone too far.

You are welcome to use any avatar you like. You just need to upload at some place (free places including www.imageshack.us for example, or your own webserver), go to your Profile and then enter the URL. It does not need to be hosted on our server.

Do you even know HOW to set up vB? It is set to ONLY allow your current avatars.
