These 2 were found in a dumpster at a hardware store:

A boy and a girl. The boy has the eyes open, the girl not yet, so I suppose they are close to 2 weeks old. Covered in fleas, but not dehydrated or anything, so that's good.

What is this theme of dumpster animals?!?!

It reminds of when my grandmother once found a sealed box near her home with seven kittens in it. She found them in time and sent them to the shelter. They were able to rescue the babies, thanks goodness.

Where do people get off on throwing away animals as though they are garbage? ARGH!

i didn't realize there was such a big calling for domestic animal rehabbers. that is really sad that people can be so cold and callous and just throw these creatures away.
so glad you are there for them miss d.

Foster parents are hard to come by. The problem is that 90% of those willing to volunteer their time and home, are not able to let go of the foster animal. At least that's what I believe lol. I know the shelter here is having the hardest time, because of that. They were told that an animal had died, ran away, or they never heard from that person again who took an animal into foster care.

Most people think it's sooo cute to bottle-feed a puppy or kitten, but what they don't see is what comes out on the other end too. That not something we like to take pictures of lol.

And the times you get up at night, the heartbreak, the suffering...and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

If you really think you can do it, see if your local shelter has a foster program and sign up! :)

We are all doing great here. I managed to get one of the 4 ferals to come around a bit, so I kept her and put her with the 2 dumpster kitties. The other 3 ferals are out on a huge dairy farm as barn kittens right now.

They're soooooo cute. I've a dumpster kitten too. When we found her, she was abt 4 mths old. But too bad, the cat is quite sick now. She has been vomiting a couple days ago & we brought her to the vet already. I guess there's nothing much I can do. I'll show you guys the pic later on.

BTW, we've two little kitten. One of them is sick but the other one is very active & I can't really stand him at times. He's so cute.

I don't really know since one of the family members is taking care of the cat. She refuses to eat since a few days ago. She's sleeping right now. I don't really what to do. I tried to feed her but she refused to eat her foods.

And the vet has no idea what's wrong and sent you home with her to die? You have another vet you can go to?

That's the only vet we know. The cat is getting thinner. So does the kitten. She's getting cold. I already gave her water mixed with sugar to drink.

Speaking of dumpster kittens, someone dropped 2 young kittens in front of our gate somewhere in 2005. Thank God, they're still alive until today. I wonder why our newborn kittens seem to be vulnerable. I think it's the weather. We're experiencing extremely hot weather with little rain here. Even it's raining, it's still warm. We never experienced such hot weather. With so much talks on global warming.......

The young kitten is not getting any better even after I fed her with milk replacer & water mixed with sugar+salt.

To update, she's getting weaker but her body is warm. I don't really know whether she can make it. Well, if she shd go, then I shd let her go. I tried to force her to eat but she struggled. I think it's painful for her to swallow foods or drink water.

Have you noticed any diarrhea? Mucus in the diarrhea? How do the gums look? Pink or pale? Those are signs of feline leukemia and kittens can get up to 2 months old before they show signs...

Also, there is no such thing than a cat being "under the weather"...that's a thing people invented as an excuse..well most of them anyways hehe.

No diarrhea, no mucus at all. The gums look pale. Maybe she hasn't eat anything since yesterday. The kitten is only 5-wk old. Due to the hot weather, I thought she's suffering dehydration.

My dumpster kitties have found a new home!!! STRIKE! :)

The rescue is empty except for Kicker, the dumpster pup, and he will stay here until a REAL good home shows up, and if it takes forever hehehe.

One of our dumpster cats went missing. It's almost a wk today. I guess he's hanging out at his partner's house. Sounds very human. But I'm so worried abt him. I hope he'll be back soon. We've looked for him at our neighbor houses but he wasn't there.

Thanx MissDolittle. I'll update you on Teru.

That reminds me of a dumpster kitten we found in the bushes just nearby our house. That was somewhere in the mid 90’s or maybe 1997. We were having great difficulties to save her outside the gate. She was such a beautiful kitten, very ferocious. If she didn’t like you, she’ll bite you. I wish I had snapped her pics while she was in the bushes.

She went missing one day. She accidentally jumped into my sister’s car & by the time she arrived at one shopping complex, the cat escaped & can’t be found anywhere. My sister searched for her for many mths at the same place & other places too. Finally one day at the same place, she found the cat lying under her car & the cat quickly recognized my sister. In fact she recognized her car. Wowwwww………

The cat died somewhere in 2003. I wish I had her pics so that I can share with you all here. Yeah during those days, digital cameras were very expensive items.

PS. Come to think abt it. Why’re some people have to so cruel dumping their unwanted cats/kittens in bushes, along heavy traffic & busy roads etc?
