There are at least 2 kittens under my shed it is ok to feed them cat food instead of kitten food? Does anyone know of anyway to get them use to people?

Catfood is of course better than nothing, but to do them right, Kittenfood is the way to go!

I dunno about taming them. I have 4 wild ones here for 2 weeks now, I have made 0 progress and I have them in a big enclosure outside. It's impossible to find them a home, so I will bring them to a dairy farm later today and let them go to live as barn cats. I was hoping to find them a good home where they would get spayed and neutered, but no luck. Who wants a kitten that spits and hisses and bites and scratches, right?

Did you guys ever feed your kittens with soya bean milk? Goat milk is very hard to find here.

Both kinds of milk are not good for a kitten. I only use commercial Milkreplacer, always.

We've milk for adult cats but I'm not sure whether it's suitable for kittens. BTW, I'm not really a cat lover but I do care for them. It's b'coz the kids love cats & kittens. I'll try my best.

Believe it or not, I'm a dog person myself, but find it hard to resists anything baby lol.

Well the thing with milk is that ALL animals have a problem digesting the milk sugar. It will give babies diarrhea and their tiny immune system is not mature enough to fend off bacteria and viruses, so they become vulnerable to a lot of diseases. It can easily be deadly in baby animals.

That's why all big supermarkets such as Walmart for example, have commercial Milk Replacer (KMR for kittens, Kitten Milk Replacer).

I even go this far and say NEVER EVER give an animal milk, period. No cow's milk, no canned milk..goat milk only if nothing else is available, but only temporarily until you get the KMR.

Thanks for the info MsDolittle. I'm feeding the young kitten with egg yolk for every 2 hrs. Is that good enuff? She's taking her medication too.

Have you eaten an egg yolk yourself? If so, you probably remember how heavy it was in your stomach, if you did not even get sick from it..I don't know for sure, but I can't imagine it being easily digestible for a kitten. All I can tell you is, get to a store or a vet and get some KMR..nothing else is good enough if you ask me.

I only gave her the egg yolk once b'coz she refused. Actually she was feeding on her mother's milk until yesterday morning. Well, I guess there's nothing much I can do. She's dying. She sleeps all day long since yesterday. Thanks MissDolittle for your help.

BTW, the weather is very warm right now. It's only 7AM something here. Even at nite you can feel the heat.
