I found a little kitten. I don't know how old he is. He can eat on his own but he has eye goop. I don't know what it is. Does anyone know what it is or if it is just natural? Can anyone tell me how to guess how old he is?

Heya and welcome. Can you post a picture or give us more details? What is the color of the discharge, is the entire eye infected? Does it seem to bother him? How does he act? etc etc

The discharge is a white color (it was yellow once). It is about half covered. We just clean it off. It doen't seem to bother him. He acts fine. He is still getting use to us. He wondered up on my grandparents porch a couple of days ago and never left. He has a broken tail and he had a lot of fleas. I got all of the fleas off.

Keep cleaning the eye with some warm water and see if it gets better. If it is still like that in 2 days, you need to put some medicine in it. I'll tell you then what you'll need.
What are you feeding him?

Thank You Very much with your help:-) I bought some kitten hard and soft dry food. I am mixing them together. I put out a spoonful of can food for him today. How do you tell if it is a boy or girl? I think the kitten is a boy but not sure. Again THANK YOU for all your help.

It is amazing how animals act. When we first saw the kitten it was scared and he ran from us. I had a lot of trouble catching him. He hissed and scratched me. Now he can't get enough petting. He just tryed to climb up me to get on my sholder. He purrrrrs and just loves being played with.

That is great! :)
Hard to explain how you check if he's a boy or girl lol. Maybe you can google some pictures or something. I need to add something like that to my kittenbaby.com website. lol
Sounds like you are doing all the right things..however, keep off the canned food, it usually causes diarrhea and it STINKS!

He is doing great. His eyes are cleared up. We named him Nugget (my son says chicken nugget). He runs, plays, and loves to be petted. I found a web site through google that shows how to tell the difference in male and female. I just looked up kitten gender.
