Hello everyone!
Here the story....Sorry if sometimes my english is incorrect, but I'm an Italian living in the US.

I've found a stray moma cat a week ago. She was badly neglected, agressive and sick.... 3 Days ago, she delivered 2 kittens, and she died soon after that, despite all my efforts and care...

I've found myself with this 2 little one....
The first born, was very, very tiny, and I had hard time make him eat from the beginning... It was crying all the times, so I thought that there was something wrong with it...Last night the little guy passed away, in my hands, conforted with lots of love and warm towels...It was heartbreaking and I cried a lot...

I still have the second born....
I just need some assistance and advice during this journey..I bottled feed before, but not newborns....

Here is how the litte one is doing now:

Sleeping pretty much all the time...It doesn't cry a lot...
Is warm (I put a bottle of hot water in the nest)
He loves to suck my finger an dthe blanket and is costantly "making biscuits")
I'm feeding him 3ml of KRM formula every 2 hours or so...He's sucking pretty good. And after that he just got back to sleep....
Of course he's getting a lot of TLC....

Does he look ok to you guys? Is normal for him to sleep that much and wiggling like he's dreaming?
How many times a day he's supposed to defecate? He's peeing ok, but it takes a lot of rubbing for him to go poop....

He looks a lot bigger than the other one....

I really want this one to survive in memory of his mommy and his little brother...

Thank you for any advice!

If the kitten's mouht is cold and his paws are cold that means thatthe kitty is chill? Even if is on the eating pad?
This little guy seems like is sleeping all the times.... It takes the bottle, but is not screaming because hungry....He's constantly curled up close to warm bottle.
Are they supposed to scream and move around a lot when they are 3 days old?
If he's purring and "making biscuits" means that is doing ok, but he's just taking naps?

i'm really worried....I don't want to loose this one too....

Please any advice?

Hey Daisy..first off, you are doing a marvelous loss! Don't let those losses get you down, concentrate on the lil one.

First, please read about the rice buddy:
http://www.petsandwildlifeforum.com//showthread.php?t=325

it's a better heating source than a hot water bottle in my opinion..stays hot longer and you can make a few of them..and they have more like the mom's body shape.

Just make sure he doesn't get overheated.

Since you feed him every 2 hours, he won't have to start screaming when he gets hungry, so no worries there. You have to keep feeding him through the night though..at least twice with no longer than 4 hours in between each feeding, 3 would be perfect.

Do you stimulate him after you feed him so he can go pee and poop? If you do not know how to do this, go check this page out:
http://www.kittenbaby.com/bowel-movement.php

Other than that, the cold feet aren't too bad if the rest of him is warm and as long as he is making biscuits, he's good.

Can you take a picture of him and post it here?

I'm here with the little one in my hands...
He crashed during the day...He was eating ok, then later this afternoon he started being lethargic, and refusing to suck....
Now is gasping for hair....Like his brother.....
I'm in tears, I don;t know what to do....I think is dying in my hands....
I don;t know if I've done something wrong or they were just sick kittens....
I feel terrible..I wish I know what do to make him feel better, or know how to let him go in Cat Heaven without suffering too much....

Poor little one....

Why they die like his?????????

He's gone..........
Poor little thing...I'm crying and I can't stop....
I feel like is my fault.....I feel like I didn't do enough for them...But I tried so hard this part three days....My house was like a baby nursery....
He was a little fighter.. He tried so hard....Now is with his mommy and his brother in Cat Heaven....I'm sure they will have a happy life togheter up there....

There is something that can be done when they begin to gasping like that???

Oh hun, I'm so sorry. They all do the gaping thing when they are going, that's perfectly normal.

I don't think there was anything you could have done better or more. As you said, the mother was already in bad shape and then died..it sounded like the babies didn't have much of a chance even in the womb.

Don't beat yourself up, hun, this might sound cold, but you are not God, so it's not up to you to decide who dies and who doesn't, you know what I mean? So relax and pat yourself on the back for even trying to help, cuz that's more than the majority of the world population does.
