I have them for 3 days now and they are doing good. They are so delicate:

arrrrgh it hurts to look!
i just want to stuff them all in my jacket and run away to play with them all day!

*sigh* our bunny population is at a minimum. every few years foxes come in the winter, eat all the bunnies, and leave, and then the population sloooowly comes back.
the circle of life, i suppose. :smt069

Yap, that's what it is, cycle of life. Considering that they can have up to
7 litters a year, usually around 6-8 babies, and their offspring breeds, that's
a lot of rabbits. But sooo delicate that hardly 20% make it even in rehabber's
care.

Absolutely beautiful bunnies. Unfortunately, it is not illegal to put out snares here and not only do rabbits get killed but also cats and grouse. Fortunately I have a neighbour who goes through the woods around our place and his and tears up any snares he sees. Always a worry though.

Yes, considering that rabbits are on the bottom of the food chain and usually
don't get older than 1 year out in the wild (they'd probably die of fear in
captivity), they have to breed a lot. And then there were humans....

And then there were humans....
You've got that right.
