OK I was going to give this a few days before seeking help due to there is no change in his behavior, it hasn’t changed and he still eats like a champ and plays now for hours.

I had seen his anus when feeding him “funny he sometimes lays on his back when feeding, don’t know why but if he likes it why not”. His anus was open and you could see into it and it looked a little red. Later it formed what looks like a scab or poop build up. Next day I put his butt in warm water and felt around the area. The plug worked off more or less on its own. A poop puss something was coming out and he seemed to be pushing it out. This plug comes back a little later and the next morning I put him in water again to release the plug and had the same puss looking poop. Today since his behavior hasn’t changed I didn’t touch it. Moments ago you could see that he pushed it off and it was hanging by hairs around the area but another plug was now there.

Any ideas? Should I keep up the washing to open it so he can poop, which he does in the water? Is this going to keep him from pooping?
I hope there isn’t a squirrel molester on our hands!

Squirrel molester, hehehe.

Ok, lets talk poop! It's supposed to be yellowish, looking a bit like mustard, same consistency as well. Not sure if that explains the pussy look though.

With the plug, if it's an infection..sounds almost like a hemorrhoid to me, but I have never heard of that in squirrels, which doesn't mean it doesn't exist...I would start him on antibiotics. Is there any way you can have a vet take a look at that? I'm really at a loss here.

Since I don't know if it's an infection, a growth, or something totally normal, I can't advice you either, other than having somebody take a look at it that knows more than the both of us :).

I would definitely keep the area clean though, however, excessive bathing can't be good for the skin either.

Does he appear to be hurting there? More sensitive reaction to touch?
