Pepper BTW turned up to be a girl, go figure, the vet was wrong. She has know developed the habit of stealing my socks and underwear from my laundy basket. She drags them and hides them. I've caught her a couple of times, and my mother has found my dirty laundry liying around the house. When I see her doing it she just puts and inocent face :smile15:
How do I stop her before I run out of underwear????

Here are some pictures of my children lol,

Holy cow, look at those eyes with different colors! Never ceases to amaze me!

Haha, ALL my cats do the socks and underwear stealing thing, but only clean ones! I can go and pick my underwear and bras out in the yard! LOL

But think about it...if you watch wild cats..how do they drag their prey back to their young? If you look closely, you will see that they drag it exactly the same way they drag the socks and other pieces of clothing. It's their prey!

And I rather let them "kill" my socks and underwear than birds..they have to get it out of their system somehow, I suppose.

Ha ha ha...... That's sooooooo cute! Thanx to salt & pepper's mommy for sharing the pics here. Pepper reminds me of Junior. He died on 4 April this yr. We brought him to the vet for a couple of times but too bad he didn't make it. I wish I have a "snow fur" kitten like salt.

That white kitty. Is she deaf? Or possibly deaf in one ear? Many white and blue eyed/mixed eyed cats are deaf, just wondering.
Next time she takes your socks or panties, go get a small soft fun toy and take it to her. Then take the sock/pantie away and say this is mommy's and give her the toy and say this is yours and we do not take things that are not offered to us. Keep doing this and maybe she will come to understand that she has her own articles. You might want to rub the smell of your socks and panties into the soft toy you are giving to her so the new toy smells right.
This approach may sound nutty but it's worked for my cats and dogs who love my sweat/body odor and were once prone to taking my clothing.

Two different coloured eyes! I want her! =D And about the socks and underwear thing.. haha.. my aunt's cat used to do the same thing, with the dirty ones. I never had that happen with my cats, thank goodness.. although Graffiti used to adore dragging the bathroom floor mat around.

Thanks for the tips, I'll try to convince Pepper that she needs to respect my stuff. Salt, is not deaf thank god, he learned from the dog to come when his name is called and he has better hearing than Pepper. Pepper just looks at me as if I'm crazy when I call her. Any more suggestions are really appreciated, I don't know were she is hidding my socks.

I keep hearing about this white cats being deaf, yet I have NEVER encountered one and I worked with thousands of cats the past ten years. I even have a white cat with blue eyes myself. I ran into a bunch of white dogs that where deaf, but never a cat.

Several years ago we rescued a white kitten with one blue eye and one green eye and she was deaf as a post! We had another white blue eyed cat about 20 years ago and she was also deaf. Found some info on the net about deaf white cats but I can't remember where I read it.
Happy to hear that your cat isn't deaf.

I've encountered one white cat who is deaf, but I can't remember his eye colour. He learned to come when you 'called' him by snapping your fingers. He couldn't hear it, of course, but he recognized the movement and would come over for some petting. He was also the only cat I ever knew who liked the vacuum cleaner..

MissDolittle, I caught the Mother Cat dragging a small bird to her baby. That's disgusting but then she's only a cat. Poor little bird. By the time I tried to save her, she's dead already.

Unfortunately that happens when cats are allowed outside, it's nature, just too close to home. Happens here a lot too.

I finnaly saw what pepper does with my socks, she wrestles them, drags them and wrestles them some more. It looks pretty funny how she does it, because she behaves like such a diva now. Salt is more laid back, she (turns out she is a girl too) plays differently cause she hangs out with the dog.

My cat Gustave used to bring his catches into our basement and rips them apart there. :( Not very pleasant to clean up. But he hasn't done it in a while. It's not the most happy experience when you had downstairs to get something and nearly step on a bird's wing!

Hahahaha Try getting Pepper her own toy to drag around. It may or may not work, cats don't always do what we want them too. lol

My cat D.C. used to steal anything shiny, rings, bracelets, etc. He finally outgrew that thank heavens.

Pepper ruined my cell-PC sync cable, she munched on it probably last nigth, I just found the evidence under my bed. I'm trying to get her to use her toys, she only uses them when salt is around, maybe sibling rivalery?

Damn, when it comes to cables the fun stops, cuz this can get dangerous.

I have to keep my house and everything totally pet safe here. I can't leave food or lil things around, because the cats and dogs here work in teams..they conspire, I swear! lol

Cat throws things off the counter that the dogs either either eat or hide. But my oldest dog, lil Sandy, she's a 'teller', she tell me everything..she comes running and barking and makes such a fuss until I get up and check out what he wants, and voila, some cat or dog is doing something they aren't supposed to.

Want to borrow her for a few days? ROFL

One of my older dogs is also a big tattle-tale! Whenever one of the other dogs misbehaves or one of the birds gets up near the front of the house she comes to me and sways her head and drops her eyes and bumps me. Then she walks me to wherever the wrongness is happening. Once I get there she goes to her chair and acts invisible as if to tell me she didn't have any part in the problem. I always praise her for being a good helper and telling me.

Hahahaha, no you aren't alone, not by any means! Just a few minutes ago one of the other big dogs said an ugly and snapped at the new puppy (a miniature wirehaired weenie dog-10 weeks old) and Dolly came running up to me to tattle! After I scolded the big dog and told her she had to talk nice and be nice to our puppy friend, Dolly came up to me all worried so I petted her and told her she was good and wasn't in trouble! These dogs are really well behaved and mind better than most children!
