Rats! You got rats? lol A pic would be great! Yours are pet rats, right?
I only got mice..in the attic, chewing through the celing, already brought
down a kitchen cabinet. But I don't dare to put poison up there, because
I got too many squirrels around that might happen to get into the atttic.
I have never seen such tiny mice in my life...certainly not texas-size lol.
We put our cats up there, but no go, they were just screaming and wanted
back down, hehe.
I'm glad when we finally move to a bigger place :).

Pet rats are awesome! My seventh grade science teacher had several of them in the classroom (no they weren't used for any bad stuff, just pets). There was one that I got to know very well, he would curl up around my neck for the entire class. It got to the point that as soon as I walked through the door he would go nuts in his cage. I hated saying good-bye to him.
Miss D, Your cats sound like they are as good at mouse hunting as mine.

Aaaaaaw, I can just see you with the rat around your neck hehehe.
My cats only hunt mice outside, as soon as they are up in the attic, all hell
breaks loose! My dogs caught more mice last year than the cats, but I can't
put them up in the attic, they'd fall through the ceiling lol.

ahh, mice. my latest encounter with a mouse was rather sad. my parents don't handle animals as willingly as i do, so when a mouse was in their room they called for me. i didn't even have to catch it, cause it was totally stressed and had somehow squished itself between a shoe and a box. anyway, i was freaking out cause it was so helpless, i think it was a baby, so i rushed around trying to make a cage for it, but in the process i realized it couldn't be helped. it died in my hands.....i left it outside in the hopes a raccoon could get a decent snack.
*sigh* that was really sad.
anyway, i was going to put pics of my rats on here, but i dunno how exactly! could you tell me how? all my pictures are on my computor, offline.
my cat is afraid of my rats. cats are definitely more pampered now, and see no reason to get their paws sticky with mouse blood.

Hi Thundersquirrel!
To bad about the baby mouse. :( At least you tried, most people just see them as vermin to kill.
To post images you can upload them to someplace like image shack or photo bucket. Image shack will even generate links you can use for posting the images in forums and such, I'm not sure about Photo Bucket, I've never used their service.
Here is a link to Image Shack:

You can host images without an account, but it is easier to keep track of your images if you get a free account.

I have to admit I'm one of those people who would use poison if I could.
The mice have done so much damage to the house already, they keep us
up at night too. I used every repelant out there, including those electronic
devices, but I can't use those everywhere, the small wildlife goes nuts from
those too.
And then I found these 3 baby mice, mother ran off when we got up there,
so I took them down and put them in a fish tank and some food, but they
didn't make it even through the night. No clue why, they were fully furred
and looked like they could even make it on their own..almost. Makes me
wonder if they had any disease, because you can't deny that they are
carriers for lots of stuff.
One thing is for sure, when we pick a new house, BRICK ONLY! rolling

I absolutely adore rats! They make such fantastic pets when they are trained.. the best part is, of course, is that their high intelligence makes them fairly easy to train! :)
I've wanted a pet rat for a while now, but with three cats in the house, it wouldn't be the safest option.

We have a pet rat (for almost a year). She is fun sad she is good with my son (3years old). They have never bitten. My husband built a big cage for them. One died a week ago have no idea why. We also have a cat and she doesn't bother the rat. She smelt of them the first day and that is all.

YOu know there are rat and mouse shows, right? It's tons of fun.
