I've got a young kitten (approx ten weeks old) and i think she might have been removed from the mother too early because she sucks my jumper almost obsessively. my mothers cat did this for her entire life and I'm worried the same thing will happen with this kitten and it's driving me nuts, i can't let her sit on my lap while I've got a jumper on because i can't seem to make her stop doing it.

if anyone has got any advice on how i could tackle this problem i would be really grateful.

Hi haezel, and welcome on board!

I'm sorry you find that behavior annoying, most cat owners find it adorable lol.

I can come up with 2 suggestions from the top of my head:

1. Get fabric that's the same or similar to your jumper and give her that

2. Enforce your boundaries. Cats are not that different from dogs when it comes to discipline. They might try to overstep that boundary more often and it needs to be kept being reinforced..that's what makes cats cats lol.

Hissing at them really works for me..it's a language they ALL have understood so far.

Thanks for the quick reply.

it would be ok if she didn't dribble all over me. i have been trying the the hissing and moving her away etc & i think i might be getting somewhere, roll on summer then i can put the knitwear way!!
