Gustave does. I remembered this story the other day, and I figured I would share.

Gus had climbed up a ladder we keep on the side of the house, went on the roof, and started yowling 'helplessly'. My brother and step dad became concerned, though I told them not to rescue him, because he had to learn to get down on his own. Eventually we lost sight of him, so up go dad and bro. Almost as soon as they climbed up and had their backs turned, Gustave ran down the ladder. He then sat on the ground and watched as my bro and step dad scurried around on the roof, trying to find out where he went. My mother and I had tear in our eyes because we were laughing so hard!

Speaking of Gus, he ate a bird the other day and got sick. =/ Meds cost 500$. :O But he's doing well now!

Haha! sounds just like my husband's cat. Darra (means "Panic" in another language) has a favourite game. Hide and seek. While I have watcher her play the "help me I'm stuck" card her entire life, my mother had not. The military moved us to another town and we couldnt keep the 3 cats and 1 dog, so they went to live on my mother's farm.

Five days after the cats are moved, my mother calls me to inform me that she let the cats out for the first time, and Darra hadn't returned that night. I tell her it is nothing to worry about, she is just off playing and will be fine. A week passes with no sign of Darra. I was up to visit, and at dark on the 8th day mom is terribly upset and afraid that my husband will be mad that she lost his cat. As the sun sets we hear the most pathetic little crying noise. I of course, have heard this my whole life, she particularly likes to do it after she has taunted and teased all the neighborhood dogs into finally chasing her then trees herself and takes a nap. Mom is relieved and grabs a flashlight, taking off running into the pasture to find my "poor lost cat".

Darra had set herself onto a tree branch in the middle of a small pond, and was acting as though her very life was in danger from sharks or such other. Mom looks at me and asks if we need a boat. I finally convinced her not to get one, and told her to just wave to the cat and say Bye. So she does, and wouldnt you know, as soon as we get back to the house here comes Darra, dry as a bone, running behind us growling. Now mom doesnt worry at all when Darra goes on vacation.

Well, according to the vet, it was some sort of infection. They didn't determined if it was from the bird or not, as they would have to do a feces check, but they did a blood test, treated him for an infection and he got better! That works for us! It could have been purely coincidence, but I wonder if maybe his insides got scratched from eating a beak or something. My grandmother's cat died from that though, so I guess he didn't eat a beak.

cats are funny creatures. every night as our dog anabell is laying in her crate trying to sleep, the cat (bernie) will walk by the dog....hiss and growl...then jump on the bed and expect to be pet. anabell looks at me as if to say, 'what did i do??' the best is in the morning...i'll walk by bernie and she'll smack me on the leg to let me know she's there and that she wants some attention!!
