I've been presented with another baby squirrel last night; now I have two. :smile26: I've rehydrated the newest one; she appears to be five weeks old (eyes are open with white hair on her tummy). She doesn't seem to want to take the formula. I can get about 2 cc in her, but she doesn't even want that. I'm thinking it's not mother's milk, and she's not used to a syringe. Any thoughts on how to make her want to eat? Can I start putting cheerios in the nest so she can start teething? I'm sure the other baby isn't far behind.

Hehehe, before you know it, they'll start piling up!

Yes to the Cheerios. They know on their own when they are ready to eat them touch them if they are not ready.

As the formula, give her some time. Once she gets really hungry and used to it, she'll eat enough (IF she's healthy).

You will probably notice a big difference in personality with a baby you raised with eyes still closed and the one you got with eyes open already. They are usually wilder, but who knows.

Yay!! She took formula willingly today, and almost 4 cc!! She's was so ready for it, too! I put some Cheerios in the box today. Both of the babies have started jumping a little bit and ended up on the floor, so they're in a taller box until their cage comes this week.

The little one without the eyes open had a little food on her eye. I gently brushed it away, and her eye opened slightly. Would this have happened anyway, or did I just blind my baby? She's almost 5 weeks old so I didn't know if this was normal.

Thank you! It appears that eye is open now, so we're just waiting on the other one. I just hope I'll be able to tell them apart after this.

If they are both of the same gender, probably not, hehehe.

I appreciate all of the help you have given me. Here's a picture of the two babies I've had for the past three weeks.
