View Full Version : *ahem* eh, hello...
Howdy everyone, I'm Mo, you can call me...Mo...
I suppose I better get out a little bit of an intro.
So I'm 14 years old, from Canada. Interests include:
animals (of course) - horses being my favorite
computers - forums, graphics, also a Zoo Tycoon fan (if anyone has heard of it)
outdoors - riding when I get the chance (I don't own horses but my friend does), hunting (I don't have a liscence, but I go along with my dad), hiking, biking, swimming, etc.
sports - *takes a deep breath* ...volleyball, soccer, cross country, basketball, gymnastics (quit this year), badminton, track and field, baseball (softball, w/e)--competitively. With friends for fun there's shinny, football, or anything else
reading - favorite books are LOTR, Harry Potter, Narnia
art - sketching (pencil) and computer graphics stuff
I don't have any pets anymore, I used to have lots of different fish, and a [fat] cat that was my aunties and now lives at my grandma's farm.
Hopefully that's everything lol. =P

Welcome Mo! :)
I used to have horses, but a flash flood swept everything away. But hopefully next year I'll have some again!
I have a question (absolutely not offensive ok?) because I'm curious: How can you go hunting when you like animals?
I often meet people that say they absolutely love animals and at the same time go hunting, but in my mind it doesn't fit together. Maybe you can make sense to me lol.
I never heard of Zoo Tycoon, is that a PC Game??
Soccer hm? That's the ONLY sport I like :). I watched every game of the WorldCup. I'm for Germany, because that's where I grew up, but I live in Texas right now :).

Thanks!
And that's unfortunate, what kind were they? My friend has a quarter/morgan cross--quite wide lol.

No offense taken. =)
It's kind of difficult to explain, and I don't want to write out a massive post, but maybe a few points...
1. I hunt for meat, it tastes good, it's fresh, and it's a little more variety. I don't like it when people hunt for sport (just for the trophies--"I got the biggest and best").
2. I read a magazine article a few months ago where they did a study on the population control of deer in certain areas, and hunting seemed to work best.
I'm sorry I can't offer a good explanation, I guess it really depends on what you believe and how you're raised too.
I never heard of Zoo Tycoon, is that a PC Game??
Yep, you build and manage your own zoo. I own Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection and Zoo Tycoon 2. There have been a few expansions already released for ZT2, and a Marine Mania 2 and Dino Danger are coming out soon. :D

Ah cool, I just started getting into soccer recently, it's quite fun. I've been watching a bit of the World Cup, but I don't really care too much who wins. =)

Thanks for letting me know about the hunting! I agree and have no problem
with hunting for food, because I am certainly not a vegetarian and I'm good
at not thinking of the cow when I eat a steak.
I do believe that the population control is bull. Shouldn't have killed all the
preditators such as wolves. But I can't really argue the subject, because I
don't have the facts and I have a hard time believing the facts I read in
magazines and newspapers. I have known too many reporters lol.
I just don't see any woods being crowded with deer.
But you are right, it all depends on what you believe in, aaaaand what
you can't change and have to accept.
I just get so upset when I get an animal into the rescue here that was
shot, such as owls, hawks, opossums..squirrels too. Those are the sport
hunters, the ones that brag about how they shot an innocent animal.
But I can't change it, so I accept it and try to undo the damage in the
surviving animals.
I guess I believe in the animal and life..but then I would have to stop
eating meat too hm? looool I guess I'll leave it alone hehehee.
Oh ya, I see what you're saying. And yeah, the best way to explain it for me is the meat thing. It's also a challenge I guess, and it just "tastes better" knowing you worked hard to get it. (and we bowhunt, so it's a lot more difficult than going out with a gun)
Anyway, thanks for the welcome and all, see you around! :D

wow, that's a lot like zoo tycoon 2. almost exactly the same. i'm sure they have some differences, though.
i'm still a sucker for zoo tycoon complete collection, though. the only cool thing about the second one is that you can walk around your zoo up close, but otherwise complete collection is much more diverse.
it's weird thinking about these games.....i keep thinking about college, and how i won't have the time or the PC to play these kinds of games. strange. it's like time is running out to be a kid...

Aaah, I see. I haven't had a chance to take a look at the game yet, but
I'm looking forward to it :).
Yes, you are right..your time as a kid is up, but since I know you, I never
thought I was talking to a kid..you are too reasonable for that lol.
You have made decisions and act like an adult, nothing to fear hun :).
Congratulations by the way..belated of course.

The Wildlife Park 2 game looks pretty cool. I'll have to see if santa will bring it to me for Christmas. :D
Pssssssssst Thundersquirrel, even adults need to act like kids and play once in awhile.
