If you are interested, I made a site for raising baby kittens, since I
literally raised hundreds of the lil orphans the shelter got in the past
4 years: http://www.kittenbaby.com

But now I have my own non profit, a wildlife rescue, but only the small
ones for now, such as birds, squirrels, rabbits, opossums, racoons, skunks, etc.

We are going to move later this year and plan to get a small farm where
I can take in larger animals as well...I can't wait!! dance

This is the last kitten I raised, she has a great home now:

Cool, that's great!!

I will take a look at the site. And I will tell my mother, she loves cats too, she has 5 cats, in fact Lulu is the daughter of two of my mom's cats...

Oh, and this is a little kitten my mother found in the train railway...

Aaaaw :).

I see the eyes are a bit infected...I go and buy the injectible penicillin for
pigs at the feedstore here and I put a drop of it on a cottonball and wipe
the eyes...it never ever failed, within 24 hours the eyes were fine.

Just in case it happens again...my cats often get teary eyes (all 4 of mine
have feline leukemia), so I always have a bottle handy in the fridge. It's
great for all little cuts and scrapes too. I only use it topical, never feed or
inject.

Thanks for the tips!

Anyway that picture was when she just found her, a couple of months ago, she's fine now. :)

But Lulu sometimes gets teary eyes, I think because she hurts herself with the nails, so it's good to know!

Tyler (adopted from Animal Control at 3 mos., now 6 years old!) and
Eloise (my feral, indoor-only cat! Found near death on city streets at 12 weeks, now almost one year old! And I still can't touch her...)

Wow, you still can't touch Eloise? That's amazing! I had a dog like that.
She lived on the property we bought and it took a full year until she let me
pet her. But after that she become my shadow :).

Here is my babysitter :):

Wow, what an angel doggie! Between juggling litters of kittens, I also have to juggle my two rescue dogs because they would EAT the babies. It's a very interesting life I lead :)

Yeah, Eloise is a lost cause I think. We were making progress until about 5 1/2 months old when my vet started really pressuring me about getting her in for a spay/microchip. I knew I had to do it soon, but I was so worried about reversing the progress we had made by trapping her and taking her in for surgery! My worst fear came true - she will never trust me now - but at least she's fixed and chipped if she ever got out!

I can sneak up on her sometimes while she is eating and touch her but she jumps and hisses. When I moved about six months ago I thought I was going to need stitches after trapping her to transport to the new apartment.

She's so darn cute though...I hate it that I can't cuddle her! I talk to her all the time and it really makes her mad. She gives me the most evil looks. She's the happiest feral cat ever though! She loves my other two cats, she gets fed all the time, and I always make sure she has a safe, dark hiding spot when she needs it.

maybe i'm too optimistic, but i bet your feral kitty will come around. it'll just take longer than it would've, probably. maybe if you give love to your other cats when she's around, she'll get jealous and decide to trust you. does she like to play, at least?

i only have one cat.....i NEED to figure out how to do pics on here. i've tried to go to photobucket and places like that but it never works. :?

miss d, oopsierosy looks a lot like my cat, but my cat has a smaller head and much longer fur....and smaller ears, and different eyes....but their coloring is very similar. at least on the face.

I have yet to understand cat psychology! I can tell you everything about
dogs, but I gave up with cats. I know how to raise them, but once they are
adults, I give up lol. Hubby is the cat person, I do kittens, dogs and wildlife,
lol.

I have 3 dogs. A 7 months old Great Dane, the 4 year old Lab, and a 14 year
old Chihuahua Cocker Spaniel Mix, all rescues..naturally lol. I have them alll
since they were a few weeks old. The 4 cats were my first fosters..blame
me hehehe.

You know what's funny? I was looking at your photos and the one where
you sit at the computer with the blue skirt..I had to look 3 times to make
sure it was not me on that picture lol. Same desk, same keyboard, same
clothes, same skin type..you got dark hair and blue eyes too? lol

I just imagined myself with my 4 cats at Photobucket..OMG lol.
Why don't you get one of them 5 Dollars cameras you can put on your
key chain at walmart? They work great! I want to see your pets! lol

I'm outta here, it's almost midnight..nite nite!

I have dark hair and GREEN eyes, actually!

Yeah, cats are weird. Mostly Eloise is just weird. I can sort of see in her eyes that she's a little curious and jealous. She comes near me, but one mention of her name or glance in her direction and she's gone. I'm just waiting for the day that she's old and arthritic and I can cuddle her against her will

She's not much into playing. She has a cat dancer that she bats around a bit. She's mostly into cuddling with Tyler and hiding in the cat tree or the closet. Here's another picture:

You know, I just remembered I had a cat like that! I got her as a kitten.
When we brought her home, our older cat thought she was a toy and
threw her around. She got scared and managed to get stuck between
the floor and the ceiling.

For 3 days we tried to coax her out. She finally fell for a piece of tuna.
Since then that kitten, 3 months old, sat under the dresser. No matter
what we did, she hissed and even charged at us.

When she was a year old, she was still under there. We tried to take her
outside, she just laid down flat in the grass and screamed for half an hour.

One day she really did attack..I mean she was out to kill! We couldn't
live with her whatsoever, but we didn't want to put her down either.

We found a no-kill shelter that took her. After a week we went back to
check on her. She was in an outside cat enclosure, most beautiful thing
I've ever seen, and she was laying on top of a cat tree and was as serene
as she could be. We were even able to pet her. What do you know lol.

Maybe she needed the outside and other cats. All I know she was a
happy cat, totally changed.

Cats are mysterious creatures, there is no way to figure out what is on their minds.

I once had a grey and white tiger stripe female who would hide on the top self of my closet. When I would walk by or try to get something out of the closet she would literally attack me. After a few months of enduring her attacks I decided I could no longer keep her in my home. An elderly couple who lived about two houses down from me said they would take her. About two weeks after I had taken the cat to them I stopped in to see how things were going, I had told them if things didn't work out for them I would take her back and look for another home, I didn't want to leave them stuck with an out of control cat. I couldn't believe it when I walked into their livingroom, the cat was sitting on the woman's lap purring up a storm. I have come to the conclusion that animals can have a personality conflict with certain humans and there is nothing to be done but find a human they do like.

I agree. It appears that they adopt the person, not vice versa lol.

are your cats ever just lying down and resting, and all of a sudden they look up and turn their heads as if they're watching someone walk across the room? whoa it gives me the creeps. i bet they can see ghosts or something.

Yep, they sure do! But I figured out why they do it lol. It's not that they
see ghosts, there is a smell in the air that catches their attention :). Maybe
they smell the ghosts :rolling .

ewwww i dunno if a ghost would smell too good. not that my cat would care...she likes carrying dead mice around. :P

I agree Cats are very misterious.

When my Cat Millie was a kitten she used to grab and bite peoples heels when going up the stairs so when i was getting ready for school (when i was in school) id run up the stairs to prevent myself from getting cut she was very vicious like that, but grew out of it and become the most funnyest, strangest Cat ive ever had.
I often think Cats are better than humans after all who out of the two are freeto do whatever they want..then again i quite like being a Human.hehehe
