She said it's most likely a Nuthatch, but wasn't too sure because the field guides she has don't show juveniles. So it is a juvi after all. My field guide shows a Pygmy Nuthatch looking exactly like it! So I guess we have a winner LOL.

Diet: mostly insects in summer, 70% seeds in winter
